Hartford is where history meets the modern era, and the four distinct and beautiful seasons of the city mean there will be something to see no matter what time of year your contract is.

Wethersfield is one of the more notable neighborhoods in Hartford for being the largest historic district in the state. It includes over 100 original pre-Civil War era homes that can toured. It really is a history buff's dream. Literature enthusiasts will also stop at the former home of Mark Twain, which happens to be next door to the former home of Harriet Beecher Stowe.

If you're an adventure-seeking travel RN, you'll love the Pope River. Built under downtown Hartford, you actually need to bring a flashlight with you as you kayak through these waters. There are also lots of parks throughout Hartford where you can walk and bike through the trails and see and smell beautiful rose gardens.

Hartford will fill a travel assignment with opportunities for shopping, dining, and visiting theaters and museums. Make sure to take some time to unwind with your nurse friends and see a show at New England Dodge Music Center, an outdoor amphitheater known for drawing big names.
