Why Per Diem?
Per diem nursing is the perfect way to balance your career and personal life. If you're looking for flexibility in your schedule– per diem nursing is the ticket for you! Most of our per diem nurse jobs are in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Colorado. We specialize in placing long-term care nurses at skilled nursing facilities. We also have a variety of new opportunities within the occupational health realm.
You might be wondering, what does per diem mean exactly? Translated, per diem, means "by the day" and translated means "allowance or payment for each day". In the nursing industry per diem refers to a nurse needed day by day. Per diem nurses assist with shortages that occur at a facility for a variety of reasons.
You're always in the driver's seat when managing your schedule. Our per diem nurses keep a calendar of availability online. This lets our schedulers know exactly when you can work. The expectation is that a per diem nurse works a minimum of four shifts per month. Facilities give us their needs anywhere from 2-8 weeks ahead of time. This helps you better plan your schedule, appointments, and upcoming vacations.
Along with flexibility, you get the unique opportunity to try a variety of assisted living facilities. If you love where you're at, there is a chance we can keep you at that facility on a longer-term basis. To ensure that you can hit the ground running, our nurses must have 1 year of experience in the last 2 years in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
We understand that receiving benefits is also an important aspect of a job. We offer insurance and benefits to per diem employees. You must maintain our full-time status which is 30+ hours/week to receive this benefit. We offer health, dental, and vision insurance as well as a great 401k plan.
As you can imagine, we receive new openings on a daily basis, so be sure to always check back with us! If you have questions about current openings, please reach out to us at 888-830-8811 or email wehirenurses@prninc.com
