Job Description

A Nursery Nurse typically works in hospital nurseries. Sometimes working in private residences or outpatient care centers when home care is required for infants who are sick. Nursery Registered Nurses usually provide non-medical care such as changing dirty diapers and taking care of colicky babies. Additional jobs can vary based on the need.

Responsibilities

Nursery Nurse responsibilities include:
  • Helping the pediatric physician.
  • Instructing patient and their family of needed home care and follow-up procedures.
  • Administering prescribed meds, tests, treatments and procedures.
  • Creating and managing patient care plans.
  • Documenting patient records.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Nursery RN within the past two years.
  • Active Nursing License in good standing.
  • Up to date Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
