A couple elements that travel nurses are often looking for when interested in a contract is an area with beautiful scenery and a place known for its friendly, welcoming residents. Oklahoma hits both of these marks. With its mountain ranges, lakes, and plains, the varied landscape has no shortage of views.
The Wichita Mountains, containing hundreds of species of animals including bison, is one of the most popular sightseeing destinations in the state. You can take the Talimena Drive, a scenic route which goes through the mountains and the Ouachita National Forest or stay in Medicine Park, a small tourist town in the mountains full of Bed and Breakfasts, wineries, and quaint shops.
The travel nurse who doubles as an outdoor adventure lover will find his or herself right at home in Oklahoma, where they'll have endless opportunities to go hunting, fishing, hiking, or rock climbing in their time off the clock. The nurse who prefers a low key mode of discovery might opt for the Oklahoma aquarium or try their luck at one of over 100 casinos. You could even get in touch with the Wild West at the Cowboy Hall of Fame.
Whether you want to spend your time exploring the Great Salt Plains State Park or attending a festival in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has the qualities to appeal to a variety of travel nurses. Give Nurses PRN a call if you're one of them!
