Job Description

A Medical Surgical Nurse performs a variety of duties from entry to discharge with a patient. Medical Surgical RN's work directly with patients and also may assist a doctor with procedures. A Medical Surgical RN can step in and perform the duties of a charge nurse when assigned.

Responsibilities

As a Medical Surgical Nurse your responsibilities consist of:
  • Performing patient admissions and assessments.
  • Giving necessary medications.
  • Documenting patient care regarding procedures and test results.
  • Carrying out physicians orders.
  • Review labs and other test results.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Med/Surg RN within the past two years.
  • Current RN License in good standing.
  • Up to date BLS through American Heart Association.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
