Long Term Care RNs typically work in medical facilities, convalescent homes, hospice or assisted-living centers. Long Term Care Nurses must be comfortable assessing patients, developing care plans for patients, giving guidance and set up treatment schedules for the patients. A Long Term Care Registered Nurse usually observes the work of a LPN.

Responsibilities

As a Long Term Care Nurse your duties consist of:
  • Monitoring symptoms and the vital signs of patients.
  • Maintaining records for the facility.
  • Carrying out treatment plans.
  • Overseeing aides and assistants as they assist patient's general needs.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Long Term Care RN within the past two years.
  • Active Nursing License in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
