Nurses, if you haven't yet traveled to Pennsylvania - now is your time. The state has a historically rich past - it is home to the Liberty Bell, the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and the first all-motion picture theater - to name a few. While you are on assignment in this great state, take the time to enjoy the sights. There is a lot to see and learn while you are away from the hospital. If you are a history buff, you must take the time to enjoy at least one of the following museums: State Museum of Pennsylvania, Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia Museum of Art or The Franklin Institute. You can easily spend an afternoon in one of these museums learning and discovering new historical facts. However, if you prefer to spend your free time outdoors - Pennsylvania can proudly host you in its landscape. Travel nurses love to experience the views of "Brady's Bend Overlook", "Beartown Rocks" and "Brooks Run Fire Tower" - you will be left in awe of the beauty. In fact, you need to bring a camera to capture the beauty. Enjoy the time hiking the gorgeous landscape or experience "Dent's Run Elk Viewing Area". This is the most popular site for elk viewing in Pennsylvania; in fact, the state is home to the largest free-roaming elk herd in the Northeast. Nurse’s rave about the experience - seeing the incredible animal in its natural environment will leave you with a great appreciation for wildlife. After a day filled with hiking and Elk viewing, relax at one of the many local restaurants. One of the best things about being a travel nurse is experiencing not only the local sights, but the new restaurants. Pennsylvania will not disappoint your taste buds. We must recommend a few spots for you to check out while on your nursing assignment. If you are looking for a place that treats you like family - Alla Famiglia is your spot. It is located in the great city of Pittsburg - it is known for the most incredible food in the state. Another restaurant to try is Tony Luke's - "No one knows Cheesesteaks like Tony", you know if that is there tagline it ought to be good!
