The Cath Lab Tech is a healthcare professional that works in the cardiovascular field. Catheterization Laboratory Technicians spend a lot of their time in operating rooms working with physicians while performing any and all cardiovascular procedures. Because of this, Cath Lab Technicians have to be able to react correctly to high-stress situations, in a calm and effective manner.

Responsibilities

As a Catheterization Laboratory Tech your duties consist of:
  • Make Certain the EKG equipment is running effectively before and during procedures.
  • Checking the patient's vital signs before, during and after procedures to make Certain all safety measures are taken.
  • Read and thoroughly understand various test results, and then also communicate those results with the patients and their families.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Cath Lab Tech within the past two years.
  • Current RN License in good standing.
  • Up to date BLS through American Heart Association.
  • Negative Drug Screen.
