If you'd like your next travel contract to be in an exciting city with loads of culture that also gives opportunities to explore the outdoors, consider heading to America's capital, Washington, DC. DC is famous for its many monuments, memorials, and museums, and over 20% of the city is covered in park land. Even more, Washington D.C. has a vibrant nightlife. There is something for every type of travel nurse in DC.
Washington, DC has tons of must-stops. When you have some time away from your travel assignment, go exploring in the National Mall. The two miles of land sits between the Capitol Building, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and White House. You can also go to the famous Smithsonian Museums.
There's much more to DC than the national monuments. Even in a large city, the outdoor enthusiast will have plenty of places to go. Rock Creek Park, for example, is filled with hills and trails perfect for biking, running, or hiking. You can also rent a boat and go kayaking or sailing in the river.
There is always some sort of celebration going on in Washington, DC. During Passport D.C., for example, you can go into any of the embassies on Embassy Row to get a taste of that particular country. During warmer months, there are outdoor movies projected every week at different locations, sometimes outside the Capitol Building. The opportunities for exploration are endless in DC, and that's just the type of thing a hard-working travel nurse needs. Give Nurses PRN a call when you're ready to see it for yourself!
