Job Description

The Catheterization Lab Technician is a healthcare professional that works in the cardiovascular field. Cath Lab Techs spend a lot of their time in operating rooms working with doctors during any and all cardiovascular procedures. Because of this, Cath Lab Techs have to be able to react properly to high-stress situations, in a calm and effective manner.

Responsibilities

As a Catheterization Laboratory Tech your duties include:
  • Ensure the EKG equipment is running correctly before and during procedures.
  • Checking the patient’s vitals before, during and after procedures to make Certain all safety precautions are taken.
  • Review and completely understand a variety of test results, and then also discuss those results with the patients and their family members.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Cath Laboratory Technician within the past two years.
  • Current RN License in good standing.
  • Up to date BLS from American Heart Association.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
