Job Description

The Catheterization Laboratory Technician is a healthcare professional that works in the cardiovascular field. Cath Lab Technicians spend most of their time in operating rooms helping physicians while performing any and all cardiovascular procedures. Because of this, Cath Lab Techs need to be able to react correctly to stressful situations, in a calm and effective manner.

Responsibilities

As a Cath Lab Technician your responsibilities include:
  • Make Certain the EKG equipment is running efficiently before and during procedures.
  • Monitoring the patient’s vitals before, during and after their procedure to make Certain all safety precautions are taken.
  • Review and completely understand various test results, and then also discuss those results with the patients and their family members.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Catheterization Laboratory Technician within the past two years.
  • Active Nursing License in good standing.
  • Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
  • Negative Drug Screen.
