Wausau is a small, welcoming city with a knack for outdoor recreation. Wausau's north woods location and many lakes make it a beautiful place to see during any of its four distinct seasons. Beyond that, Wausau is rich with culture and history and boasts a long list of restaurants, museums, galleries, and theaters. For your next travel contract, consider exploring this place "where all the seasons come alive," as Wausau's tourism website states.
If you prefer to relax in the outdoors during a nursing contract, head to Wausau's Rib Mountain State Park for hiking trails and gorgeous views from the watch tower. You can even enjoy live music on the mountain during summer's Concerts in the Clouds. In the winter months, Granite Peak is the highlight of the mountain. The skiing and snowboarding destination is one of the largest in the Midwest and a popular spot for visitors from around the state.
If you prefer to encounter your contract city in a more low key way, check out Wausau's Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum or the Marathon County Historical Museums. There are always shows to see at the Wausau Performing Arts Center, or you could check out Market Place Thursday to purchase local produce, famous Wisconsin cheese, art, and handmade jewelry. Wausau's Artrageous Weekend is the city's biggest event, taking over three venues for the weekend and welcoming tons of out-of-town visitors.
Even more, you can be a spectator at the Midwest Freestyle Kayak and Canoe Championships, relax on a blanket at Movie under the Stars, or just go exploring in one of many wooded parks. Wausau will not only make you feel at home on a travel contract; it will also give you plenty of new experiences to pursue. To see what we have available, give Nurses PRN a call!
