Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician specializes in sterilizing, prepping and packaging surgical equipment and tools. Sterile Processing Techs has to have advanced knowledge about surgical tools and various methods to decontaminate and prevent infections.

Responsibilities

As a Sterile Processing Technician your duties consist of:


  • Ensuring all medical equipment and tools are sterilized and all safety precautions are followed.

  • Managing inventory of surgical equipment and supplies by stocking and placing orders.

  • Examine and test all surgical equipment, instruments and tools for defects or problems prior to operations.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Sterile Processing Tech within the past two years.


  • Active Nursing License in good standing.

  • Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
