Being right at the center of the Great Lakes region, nurses traveling to Michigan will get plenty of opportunities to relax on the water by fishing, sailing, canoeing, boating, or even surfing the waves of Lake Michigan. If you have a contract during the winter months, the lakes are just as busy with ice fishing. You could also go to the snowy hills for some skiing, snowboarding, or sledding.

As the origin of the auto assembly line and Motown music, Detroit has an identify all its own. Go on a Great Lakes Cruise to see the city skyline from the water or shop the Eastern Market, the largest open air market in the US. Sports fans will be right at home and can cheer on the sport of their choice right in the city. Near Detroit, Ann Arbor is a fun university town known for being a center for art and culture with some of the most gorgeous changing seasons in the Midwest.


Michigan is a perfect place for a traveling RN or Allied Health Professional to acclimate to their surroundings through the various fairs and festivals that showcase and celeate the state throughout the year. Music lovers should stop at Paradise Valley Music Festival for some live local musicians. Michigan Lavender Festival celeates local artisans and farmers and has tons of family-friendly activities.
