Washington State has it all, a true paradise for RN wanting to advance their career. It has a spectacular coastline, temperate rainforests, mountain ranges and active volcanoes. The Seattle-Tacoma area is rich in history and culture while the east side of the state, Spokane is rich in outdoor life and is with-in easy day trip range to many great locations such as Lake Coeur d'Alene.
Seattle is a place where things get started. Seattle's historic Pike Place Market is where the very first Starbucks opened in 1971 and started America's coffee craze. The grunge scene emerge from Seattle in the 1980's. Seattle leads the way with green technology and an environmentally sound culture. There is a huge selection of things for RN to do in the Seattle - Tacoma area ranging from hiking, seeing the Space Needle, taking the Underground Tour, spending a day at Alki Beach, spending a night exploring the bookstores, art galleries, restaurants and nightlife of Pioneer Square or taking a day trip to Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helen's or Olympic National Park.
Washington has the largest temperate rainforests in North America, Quinault and Hoh forests, also known for their record setting trees and giant slugs. These magical forests, located in Olympic National Park, are almost beyond description.
Peak whale watching is from May through September. You can catch a whale watching cruise or watch from land at Lime Kiln Point State Park. Whale watching is just one way to enjoy Washington's Pacific Coast--Washington has over 3,000 miles of saltwater coastline for you to explore.
