Stepdown RNs work with patients who have been seriously ill or injured and who are on the path to recovery. Stepdown Registered Nurses help with a smooth and safe progression from the ICU to the general nursing floors, for both the patients and their families.


As a Stepdown Nurse your responsibilities consist of:
  • Writing a plan of care for the patient while working with other healthcare staff members.
  • Closely overseeing the care of the patient and take steps to ensure they are stable.
  • Preforming patient assessments (pre and post Intensive Care Unit care) and track results.


One year of experience as a Stepdown RN within the past two years.
  • Active RN License in good standing.
  • Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
