A Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered nurse is responsible for managing the general care of an infant or child who have serious medical issues that must have constant monitoring. Pediatric Intensive Care Unit RNs play a critical role in recognizing any changes in the patient’s condition.
As a PICU RN your responsibilities include
- Administering prescribed medications.
- Performing patient assessments.
- Completing necessary procedures as taught by the doctor.
- Making certain that the patient’s emotional and physical needs are met.
- Completing physicals and screening for diseases.
One year of experience as a PICU Registered nurse within the past two years.
- Current RN License in good standing.
- Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
- Negative Drug Screen.
