The Post Anesthetic Care Unit Nurse is responsible for the day to day care of patients that have just went through anesthesia during a procedures. Post Anesthetic Care Unit Registered nurses take care of all types of patients, from adults to children and play an vital role in the recovery of the patient.

Responsibilities

As a Post Anesthetic Care Unit Nurse your responsibilities include:
  • Review the patient's health status and administer medications as needed.
  • Helping patients with personal needs directly after their procedure as they are brought back to consciousness.
  • Monitor the vitals of the patient and ensure that no complications come up.
  • Care for the patients post operation wounds and replace bandages as necessary.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Post Anesthetic Care Unit Nurse within the past two years.
  • Active Nursing License in good standing.
  • Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
