Job Description

The PACU Registered nurse will be responsible for the daily care of patients that have just went through anesthesia during a medical procedure. Post Anesthetic Care Unit RNs care for a wide variety of patients, from children to adults and play an vital role in the recovery of the patient.

Responsibilities

As a PACU Nurse your responsibilities consist of:


  • Assess the health of the patient and administer medications as needed.

  • Assisting patients with personal needs right after their medical procedure as they are brought back to consciousness.

  • Monitor the vitals of the patient and make sure that no complications arise.

  • Care for the patients surgical wounds and change dressings when needed.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Post Anesthetic Care Unit Nurse within the past two years.


  • Active RN License in good standing.

  • Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
