Job Description

The PACU Nurse will be responsible for the day to day care of patients that have just undergone anesthesia during a procedures. PACU RNs take care of a wide variety of patients, from children to adults and play an important role in the recovery of the patient.

Responsibilities

As a Post Anesthetic Care Unit Registered nurse your duties include:
  • Assess the patient's health status and give medications as needed.
  • Assisting patients with personal needs directly after their medical procedure as they are brought back to consciousness.
  • Watch the patient's vitals and make sure that no complications are found.
  • Take care of the patients surgical wounds and replace bandages when needed.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Post Anesthetic Care Unit Registered nurse within the past two years.
  • Active RN License in good standing.
  • Up to date Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
