Job Description

The Post Anesthetic Care Unit Registered nurse will be responsible for the daily care of patients that have just went through anesthesia during a medical procedure. Post Anesthetic Care Unit RNs care for a wide variety of patients, from children to adults and play an crucial role in the recovery of the patient.

Responsibilities

As a Post Anesthetic Care Unit Nurse your responsibilities include:
  • Analyze the patient's health status and give medications as necessary.
  • Helping patients with personal needs immediately after their medical procedure as they are guided back to consciousness.
  • Monitor the vitals of the patient and ensure that no complications come up.
  • Care for the patients post-op wounds and change dressings when needed.

Requirements

One year of experience as a PACU RN within the past two years.
  • Active Nursing License in good standing.
  • Up to date BLS from American Heart Association.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
