Louisville, KY

Whether a nature enthusiast or a city dweller, any travel nurse with a desire to experience the South can find a home in Kentucky. The Bluegrass State offers exciting cities like Louisville and Lexington along with natural views of shoreline, mountains, caves and woodlands.

With 52 state parks, all with their own identifying features, outdoor adventure-seeking travel RNs won't easily run out of places to explore. Mammoth Cave National Park, for example, features the world's longest cave system. The mountains, waters, and woods of these parks create opportunities for fishing, golfing, swimming, camping, boating, hiking, horse riding, and more.

If you're looking for more of a city setting for your next contract, Kentucky has plenty of that to go around. Lexington is a great stop for sports enthusiasts to see a game at the University of Kentucky. It also features art museums and theaters if you plan to soak up some culture on your days off.

Louisville has great restaurants and shopping. In the origin place of the baseball bat, you can explore the Louisville Slugger Museum. What draws the most tourists to Louisville year after year is the Kentucky Derby. Whether or not you're there during the Derby, make sure you stop at historic Churchill Downs racetrack.

On a travel assignment, you want to be somewhere that's a good fit for you. With such a diverse range of landscape and cities, Kentucky can be a good fit for pretty much everyone. On top of that, it's the birthplace of Kentucky Fried Chicken. What more could a hungry travel nurse ask for?
