Estes Park, CO

From the highest peaks of the Rocky Mountains to the crashing rapids of the Arkansas River, Colorado is the go-to spot for a travel nurse looking for an adventure-packed contract. While it is known for its snowy mountains, Colorado offers a varied landscape and beautiful weather, creating a culture of outdoor recreation and exploration.

The activities that you can take part in during a travel contract in Colorado are seemingly endless, but favorites include skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling when exploring the snow-covered mountains, where you'll see gorgeous views from the highest altitude in America. You can also go hiking, mountain climbing, and mountain biking on the peaks. If you prefer the water, you'll be near some of the best whitewater rafting and kayaking in the country.

If you’d like to explore the city after a busy day of travel nursing, there are plenty of options to choose from like Aspen, Colorado Springs, and Denver, the capital of Colorado and biggest city in the Rocky Mountains. Known as the "Mile High City," Denver boasts tons of museums, shopping districts, and restaurants. There are plenty of fun recreational activities right in the city; you can even take a Gondola ride! All of this excitement is just miles from the Rockies.

Colorado Springs is a smaller yet lively city that features the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak, both beautiful destinations for hiking, biking, or just taking pictures to share with your jealous friends and family back home! Throughout the rest of the state, you'll find national monuments, historical trails, and forests. Between being on a travel contract and exploring the state, you'll be relieved to dip into Glenwood Springs, one of the largest hot springs in the world.

Colorado is a great place for a travel contract because it's a city of contrast. It's where skyscrapers shine within the same view as the Rocky Mountains, you can ski down a mountain on the same day that you can sit outside and enjoy the sun, and the rugged outdoors meets cosmopolitan growing cities.
