Job Description

A Med/Surg Nurse performs a variety of duties from entry to discharge with a patient. Med/Surg Nurses work directly with patients and also may assist a physician with procedures. A Med/Surg Nurse can step in and perform the duties of a charge nurse when needed.

Responsibilities

As a Med/Surg Registered Nurse your responsibilities include:


  • Taking care of patient admissions and assessments.

  • Dispensing prescribed medications.

  • Logging patient care regarding procedures and test results.

  • Implementing doctors orders.

  • Review labs and other test results.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Med/Surg RN within the past two years.


  • Current Nursing License in good standing.

  • Current Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.

  • Negative Drug Screen.
