Job Description

Long Term Care RNs typically work in medical facilities, convalescent homes, hospice or assisted-living centers. Long Term Care Nurses need to be comfortable assessing patients, writing care plans for patients, giving guidance and schedule treatments for the patients. A Long Term Care RN generally observes the work of a LPN.

Responsibilities

As a Long Term Care RN your duties include:
  • Monitoring symptoms and the vital signs of patients.
  • Maintaining records for the facility.
  • Implementing care plans.
  • Overseeing aides and assistants as they assist patient's day to day needs.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Long Term Care Nurse within the past two years.
  • Active RN License in good standing.
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
