Long Term Care RNs usually work in medical facilities, convalescent homes, hospice or assisted-living centers. Long Term Care RNs must be comfortable assessing patients, developing patient care plans, providing guidance and schedule treatments for the patients. A Long Term Care Nurse typically oversees the work of a LPN.

Responsibilities

As a Long Term Care RN your duties consist of:
  • Checking the condition and the vital signs of patients.
  • Maintaining records for the facility.
  • Completing care plans.
  • Overseeing aides and assistants as they assist patient's general needs.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Long Term Care Nurse within the past two years.
  • Current RN License in good standing.
  • Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
  • Negative Drug Screen.
