Monticello was extremely modern and innovative at the time and many of his inventions are still on display.

The Shenandoah National Park is a great place for a scenic drive, especially during the fall when the trees are bright red and gold. How about seeing it from above in a hot air balloon? Hikers can enjoy some or all of the 229 miles of the Appalachian Trail as it crosses Pennsylvania.

Norfolk has always been an important port city and it has an important Navy base. You can set sail yourself on a masted tall ship with a cruise from inside downtown Norfolk. Every city in Virgina mixes culture and history with great entertainment and dinning! RN can't go wrong in Virginia.

RNL&D

A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides a balance of the same elements that are found in the ICU, OR, emergency department and pediatric nursing. A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse needs to have excellent communication skills because they are the link between the patient, family members and the doctor. A Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse must be able to think on their feet and make decisions quickly. L&D Nurses help the obstetrician and spend several hours on their feet.

Responsibilities

As a L&D RN some of your responsibilities consist of:
  • Assessing contractions, dilation, fetal heart rate, etc.
  • Performing follow-up duties which include:
    • Checking the condition of the newborn.
    • Assessing the mothers condition.
    • Watching for signs of distress.
    • Watching for signs of infections and any other complications.

    Requirements

    • One year of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse within the past two years.
    • Current Nursing License in good standing.
    • Up to date Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
    • Negative Drug Screen.
