Intensive Care Unit Nurses must provide top end care for patients with life-threatening injuries. Intensive Care Unit Nurses must have the ability to make immediate and spot on decisions while staying composed during unpredictable, traumatic events.

Responsibilities

Intensive Care Unit RNs duties include:
  • Evaluating the patient's progress.
  • Taking needed steps if the patient's condition changes.
  • Assisting medical staff with procedures.
  • Ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly while taking care of patients.
  • Providing necessary medication in a fast moving, high stress environment.
  • Providing emotional support while updating family members of current health status of the patient.

Requirements

One year of experience as an ICU Registered Nurse within the past two years.
  • Active RN License in good standing.
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association.
  • Negative Drug Screen.
