Anchorage, AK

Anchorage is one of those very rare cities where the beauty of nature exists right within city limits, making it a popular choice for travel nurse contracts. As the largest city in Alaska, there are plenty of ways to entertain yourself in Anchorage, and you will be sharing a home with some of Alaska's beautiful mountain ranges.

Whether you're there for long summer days that are warmer than one might think or wintry months that bring beautiful snowfalls and night skies, there are plenty of ways to spend time indoors and outdoors. Most of the excitement of Anchorage exists in the downtown area, where you'll find restaurants, bars, and museums like the Anchorage Museum of History and Art.

Head outside to relax after a long shift, and encounter some of Alaska's famous wildlife including bears, eagles, elk, moose, bison, and more at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, a refuge for injured, abandoned, and orphaned animals. You could also get some exercise in on the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail.

In very few cities are you able to experience as much outdoor recreation as Anchorage. You can head to the hills for skiing and snowboarding or kayak through the rivers to get up close and personal with glaciers. If you're ready to really have an adventure on your next travel contrast, give Nurses PRN a call and ask about opportunities in Anchorage!
