If you're looking to experience some Southern charm on your next travel nursing assignment, Mississippi might be the perfect place. Shoreline along the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico give the state not only beautiful water views, but tons of activities for locals and visitors to take advantage of.
The travel nurse in the mood to hear some crashing waves should head to Gulf Islands National Seashore, Mississippi’s coastline along the Gulf of Mexico. The coastline is protected, so there's plenty of room for water sports or just relaxing on the white sand beach. You could also head to the Mississippi River for water sports and excellent fishing.
If you like to spend time away from your travel assignment in the great outdoors, the Natchez Trace Parkway will be perfect for you. It's a great place for hiking, biking, or camping with views that will require you to bring your camera. You can even tour the area in a horse-drawn carriage.
Mississippi is home of the blues, and you can still catch live blues music all over Jackson, along with all other kinds of music. The capital of the state is a great place for the traveling RN who prefers a more urban setting to try some food and see a show.
Mississippi residents are proud of their state and love to celebrate it. You can join them in doing so at Elvis Festival, a music festival that honors Mississippi's homegrown king of rock ‘n’ roll. You can also get in touch with one of the area's favorite pastimes at the Dixie National Rodeo. If you want to spend your next travel assignment experiencing all that the true South has to offer, from the music to the food to the people, give Nurses PRN a call!
