Kansas City is the largest city in Missouri and a great choice for a travel nurse; KC offers everything you could want in a city, and it's known for the friendly, welcoming demeanor of its residents. The unique skyline, abundant boulevards and fountains, and Missouri River make Kansas City a truly beautiful city through each of its four distinct seasons.
Downtown Kansas City has a bunch of unique, funky neighborhoods to be explored. We know you love the nursing aspect of your travel contract, but one of the best parts is being able to explore, and KC makes it easy to do that. The Street Car is a free way to hop around all of the downtown locations and neighborhoods such as River Market, an area filled with restaurants, shops, bars, and a huge year-round farmer's market.
The Crossroads Arts District is filled with galleries and museums. On the first Friday of the month, you can take a trolley from gallery to gallery and explore. The best part is that the trolley and entry to the galleries is all free, so you can keep your hard-earned cash in your pocket. If you're more of a sports-loving nurse, watch the Kansas City Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium or the Kansas City Royals play at Kauffman Stadium. There are endless ways to fill a day off, so grab your nurse friends and go when you have a chance.
Kansas City has a culture of its own that you'll want to immerse yourself in during a travel contract. From the jazz music, which can be found practically everywhere, to the famous Kansas City Barbecue, it's a city built on laid-back fun. If you really fall in love with the barbecue, head to the American Royal BBQ Contest, the biggest in the world. Give Nurses PRN a call to see what opportunities we have available!
