The growing city, home of Ohio State University, boasts loads of things to do. You work really hard on a travel contract, and you deserve an exciting place to relax and enjoy yourself on those days off. Columbus is a great destination for just that.


Short North is one of many neighborhoods worth exploring throughout Columbus. The artsy area features galleries, shops, and restaurants. On the first of every month, there's a gallery hop where the galleries stay open late and host unique events. If the galleries themselves aren't your thing, restaurants and bars also get in on the gallery hop and the area is filled with diverse Columbus residents and visitors.


The North Market is a great Columbus stop for foodie nurses. The huge indoor market features all sorts of food. It also is often the site for live music and festivals, so it's usually bustling with activity. There is an eclectic mix of events throughout a year in Columbus that will help you get to know your new city. The Columbus Jazz and Rib Fest is an insanely popular event dedicated to great music and delicious food. German Village Oktoberfest is another fun festival celeating the German heritage of many Columbus natives.


Whether you're enjoying live music at one of many venues, taking in the spectacle that is the DooDah Parade, cheering on the Buckeyes at a football game, or just relaxing on a day off spent among great people watching and the downtown skyline, Columbus is an excellent place for a travel nursing contract.
