Terre Haute, Indiana

Travel nurses and healthcare professionals doubling as sports enthusiasts, nature lovers, and city dwellers unite in Indiana because it truly has something to offer everyone. The best part of being a travel nurse or healthcare professional is being able to explore a new location on your time off, and there are tons of other things to do!

If you hope to spend your travel assignment taking in natural views, you'll waste no time making your way through Indiana's many state parks. Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is the go-to spot for scenic views and outdoor recreation. With giant dunes, lush forests, and clear water, you'll want to have your camera at this destination right along the beaches of Lake Michigan.

If you prefer to spend your time off among the city lights, Indiana has plenty of options. You can head to one of several fun university towns or Indianapolis, the capital and largest city in the state. History buffs will love Indianapolis as it's chalk full of historical monuments in close proximity to each other in an area called Monument Circle. Indianapolis is a great place to soak up some culture with tons of museums, galleries, and diverse restaurant options. To get to know the city, you can make your way down the Canal Walk on foot or even see it from a paddleboat.

There are exciting events to attend in Indiana all year long, especially if you're into sports or racing. The Indianapolis 500, usually called the Indy 500, race is the most attended sporting event in the world, and the events and parties leading up to the event will be fun even for non-fans. With multiple Division 1 universities around the state, the sports fan will easily find a game to cheer at. To really get to know the state, hit the Indiana State Fair to enjoy live music, food, rides, and buy art and crafts from local vendors.

Whatever you're looking for in your next travel nurse or Allied Health contract, there's a good chance Indiana has it. If it feels like the right time to relax on the beach of Lake Michigan, see the Indy 500 for yourself or take in the unique architecture of Indianapolis, give PRN Healthcare a call to see what's available!
