Job Description

The Catheterization Laboratory Technician is a healthcare professional that works in the cardiovascular field. Catheterization Laboratory Techs spend a lot of their time in OR settings helping physicians during any and all cardiovascular procedures. Because of this, Catheterization Laboratory Technicians must be able to react properly to high-stress situations, calmly and effectively.

Responsibilities

As a Catheterization Laboratory Technician your responsibilities consist of:


  • Make sure the EKG equipment is running efficiently before and during procedures.

  • Checking the patient’s vital signs before, during and after their procedure to make Certain all safety measures are taken.

  • Review and thoroughly understand different test results, and then also communicate those results with the patients and their families.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Catheterization Laboratory Technician within the past two years.


  • Active RN License in good standing.

  • Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.

  • Negative Drug Screen.
