The Lone Star State really is like a "whole other country" and Texas has so much to offer ALLIED that there is no room to describe it all here. Texas has beautiful mountains, deserts and ranch lands, exciting cities, and fantastic beaches. From The Alamo to Padre Island, Texas has it all!
Texas has some of the most exciting cites in the U.S. and each has it's own unique flavor. For many people, San Antonio defines the southwest experience with its beautiful River Walk, the historic Alamo, three of the country's best theme parks and incredible restaurants. Austin's motto is "Keep Austin Weird" and that tells you alot about the unique character of the city that is called the "Live Music Capital of the World." Austin has music of all kinds, great outdoor recreation and unique events like SXSW (a festival that combines music, film and interactive media) and the MakerFaire (for inventors and project people). Houston has all the excitement of a large city and is of special interest to fans of NASA and the space program plus it's just a short drive to the beach and boardwalk in Galveston. We must not forget to mention Dallas - Fort Worth a Texas-sized mix of cowboys and culture.
Texas is paradise for outdoor recreation too. Beach lovers flock to South Padre Island but Big Bend National Park is a hidden gem in the national park system. Big Bend is a huge park along the Rio Grande border with Mexico and it has tall mountains, deep canyons and deserts where the cactus flower while the northern U.S. is blanket in snow. Because it's one of the least visited national parks, Big Bend is a special treat for people that want to enjoy nature in solitude.
Don't miss the opportunity to explore the Lone Star state, you'll have the time of your life all while advancing your nursing career!
