Job Description

The Cath Laboratory Tech is a healthcare professional that works in the cardiovascular field. Cath Laboratory Techs spend a great deal of their time in operating rooms working with physicians while performing any and all cardiovascular procedures. Because of this, Cath Laboratory Technicians must be able to react correctly to high-stress situations, in a calm and effective manner.

Responsibilities

As a Catheterization Laboratory Technician your responsibilities include:


  • Ensure the EKG equipment is running correctly before and during procedures.

  • Monitoring the patient’s vital signs before, during and after procedures to make Certain all safety measures are taken.

  • Review and completely understand various test results, and then also communicate those results with the patients and their family members.

Requirements

One year of experience as a Cath Laboratory Tech within the past two years.


  • Current RN License in good standing.

  • Current Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.

  • Negative Drug Screen.
