Contract and Per Diem Nursing Jobs in Chicago, IL

The per diem market is hot in Chicago and therefore has immediate needs for: Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to fulfill orders. We currently are staffing for Chicago-West, Chicago-South, and also the South Suburbs, Southwest Suburbs, Western Suburbs, Northwest Suburbs.

Although our orders range across all specialties, the most urgent needs are in the following areas:

  • Medical Surgical (M/S or Med Surg)
  • Telemetry (TELE)
  • Emergency Room (ER)
  • Critical Care (CC)
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Most immediately, we have 4-13 week contract opportunities – and again, an abundant part time nursing jobs list. Majority of our facilities are acute care hospitals, although we place nurses all over. Often times, our nurses begin with us in a per diem capacity and are quickly offered contracts.

Nurses PRN focuses on what our nurses want – whether that’s a permanent Chicago Telemetry nursing position or a part time ER job – our goal is to fulfill the career needs of our nurses. For more than 15 years we have hunted out the perfect position for our nurse. We’ve seen many nurses take staffing assignments such as ICU opportunities at Harvey, supplemental jobs in Bolingbrook and per diem RN shifts at Aurora. These are just a few of the many examples of successful hospital relationships we’ve experienced over the years.

As part of the Chicago market, you know how competitive and challenging the industry can be for nurses. The satisfaction that our nurses find while working on assignment through Nurses PRN is rewarding in itself. When a nurse shapes his or her career goals and helps us understand what motivates them, we can better sort through the extensive lists of RN positions to find that perfect fit. One of the first steps is to recognize whether our nurse desires a supplemental staffing position, a contract job or a permanent opportunity.

As a supplemental staffing RN, our nurses support the Chicago facilities on a per diem basis. When the census rises at a partnering Intensive Care Unit, Nurses PRN is called and asked to supply a nurse who can work the shift along with the permanent hospital staff. This requires flexibility in one’s schedule and willingness to work well with others. The freedom of picking up a shift when it fits into their schedule often brings great satisfaction to our nurses. This can be both a part time or full time opportunity. Our per diem nurses have great longevity with us as they get the benefit of traveling from one hospital facility to another – meeting new RNs and learning as they go. The change of scenery and flexibility is well-worth the sometimes sporadic nature of this job.

Another option for RNs is to complete a contract position. Currently, our Chicago market has Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Telemetry (TELE) and Medical Surgical (M/S or MS) contracts. A contract position is a short-term commitment within one facility, usually ranging from 4 to 13 weeks in length. These jobs are primarily full time and can guarantee the shifts for the length of the contract. With many hospitals and healthcare facilities in Chicago, the opportunities for nurses who desire contract work are endless.

Recently, Nurses PRN began placing RNs in permanent positions. Although this is a new style of placement – our knowledge of the industry has withstood the test of time. We have placed nurses permanently in a variety of healthcare positions. The Chicago market reflects diversity in RN jobs which our permanent placement team is not only aware of – but part of. They take the time to know what hospital opportunities are open and communicate that to our RNs who desire a full time position.

Despite whether you are seeking a per diem Med Surg job, a TELE RN position, a contract ER nurse position… or anything in between – your career search begins and ends here. We are waiting to help you reach your RN goals.
